OMC Wound Care Services is the only health facility specializing in wound care treatment within a 60-to-100-mile radius of West Plains.

OMC Wound Care Services offers advanced wound healing treatment for chronic, non-healing wounds caused by poor circulation, diabetes, infection, toxins, burns or radiation injury. Any person with a wound that does not show adequate progress in healing over a four-to-six-week period would be a candidate for the wound healing service.

Using a team approach, beginning with the the patient, their own physician and the nurse, an individualized treatment plan is developed to best meet the medical needs of each patient.

Because no single treatment course will work for every person, OMC Wound Care Services brings together information and technology from different medical specialties within the medical center to develop a customized treatment plan.

This plan may include referral for one or more of the following services: Cardiology Services for vascular studies; OMC Nutritional Services for dietary counseling; OMC Rehabilitation Services for occupational or physical therapy; or lab or radiology testing. Other services may be referred as needed. Patients also are educated about wound care at home and wound prevention..
